What are the minimum and maximum sizes available for the the Moon Shade Blind?
Currently we offer Moon Shade Blinds that range from 29” to 73” in base width size.
What size are individual blades?
For Moon Shade Blinds that are 29″ to 50″ base width the individual blades are 3.1″. For Moon Shade blinds that are 49″ to 73″ base width the individual blades are 5.5″. Please refer to Product Specifcations for more detailed information.
Is there an overlap of the two blade sizes (3.1” and 5.5”)?
Yes. For Moon Shade Blinds that range from 48” to 50” in width you can choose between the 3.1” and 5.5” blade size. We generally recommend you select the small blade size whenever possible. However, in the case you are purchasing multiple Moon Shade Blinds you may want to maintain a consistent look and choose the larger blade size.
What is the minimum sill depth for the Moon Shade Blind?
A Minimum of 2″ sill depth is required to properly mount the blind. A depth of less than 2″ may result in the blind valance not sitting flush with the window casing. Please contact us if your sill depth is less than 2″ for alternate mounting suggestions.
What are the blades made from?
The Moon Shade Blind blades and valance are made from a custom plastic composite material embedded with wood fibers. The material is designed to be highly durable, resistant to color fading and warping.
How does the blind work with cord operation?
A continuous loop pull cord is tugged on to raise or lower the blades. The cord can be placed on either the right or left of the blind.
What type of motorization is available?
Macadam Blinds uses award-winning Somfy motorization for the Moon Shade Blind. A wireless remote and a custom lithium-ion battery pack are standard and included with every motorized Moon Shade Blind. As an added option multiple Moon Shade Blinds can be controlled from a single remote.
Can the Moon Shade Blind be installed by an end-user?
Yes! The mounting brackets we use are designed especially for this blind and are unlike anything previously used to install blinds. The installation is detail oriented but not difficult. We provide installation instructions and also have a video available.
Do you offer matching 2” horizontal blinds?
Yes! We can supply 2” horizontals that use the same valance material as our 3.1” blade size Moon Shade Blind with colour matching.
